About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide holistic support to children with special needs and the caregivers who walk alongside them every day. We do this through therapy access, caregiver education, community advocacy, and the creation of safe, nurturing spaces where families feel less alone. We understand that caring for a child with special needs is not just a medical journey — it is an emotional, spiritual, and social one. The MKO Temitope Foundation is committed to standing with families at every step of that journey, offering both practical resources and the warmth of a community that truly understands.

Our Vision

We envision a Nigeria — and ultimately a world — where children with special needs are fully included in every aspect of society, and where caregivers are honoured, supported, and never left to carry their load alone. We are building a movement grounded in faith, driven by compassion, and sustained by the belief that when communities come together around their most vulnerable members, extraordinary things happen. At the MKO Temitope Foundation, we do not just support special needs — we celebrate the extraordinary lives that emerge when every child is given the light they deserve.

What We Do

The foundation runs programmes designed to improve the quality of life for children with special needs while equipping caregivers with the tools, knowledge, and emotional resilience they need. From funding therapy sessions and specialist consultations to organising caregiver support groups and public awareness campaigns, we work across multiple fronts to create meaningful, lasting change. We also partner with schools, healthcare providers, and other nonprofits to ensure that no child falls through the cracks of a system that too often overlooks the most vulnerable.

Our Story

The MKO Temitope Foundation carries the name and spirit of a very special child — a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a full human being worthy of celebration, not just management. The foundation was established after a deeply personal journey that revealed how many Nigerian families face the challenges of special needs parenting in silence, without adequate support or community. That experience became the fuel for something greater — a foundation determined to turn private pain into public purpose, and individual struggle into collective strength.
