The Light We Called Mitcheal

WHO WAS MITCHEAL

A boy of light, courage, and extraordinary grace

Body paragraph 1:

Mitcheal Kehinde Oluwadarasimi Temitope was born on 22nd October 2011, one of a set of twin boys, into a home full of joy, prayer, and expectation. His name — meaning ‘God has been good to me’ — proved prophetic. Even as a baby, he was the smiling one, the observant one, the one who held your gaze with a knowing, peaceful look that seemed to carry wisdom beyond his months.

Body paragraph 2:

At just four months old, a severe battle with bacterial meningitis changed the trajectory of his life. The infection left him with cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, and speech delay. Yet Mitcheal defied every limitation with quiet, radiant courage. He loved water, music, fresh air, and the warmth of his family’s presence. His laughter filled rooms. His smile silenced despair. And his life — all fourteen years of it — taught everyone around him what it truly means to love without conditions.

Body paragraph 3:

Mitcheal attended the JKS Special Needs Centre in Kubwa, Abuja, where he found belonging, therapy, and community. He played a keyboard. He held his brothers’ hands. He giggled at the sight of a water bottle and reached for it with confidence. Every small thing he achieved was celebrated as the miracle it was.

Body paragraph 4:

On 29th October 2025, minutes before his evening feeding, Mitcheal transitioned to heaven. He was fourteen years old. He left behind a twin brother who never gave up on him, siblings who learned empathy through him, parents whose faith was forged through loving him, and a community that will carry his light for generations.

“Heroes don’t always stand on podiums. Sometimes, they lie quietly in hospital beds, smile bravely at life and teach love simply by being here.” — Dr. Tinuke Temitope
